If you like mean Asian dealers, play here.
Other than the staff, this place is just fine. Hookers, pot dealers make it interesting. Diner has good specials.

  Unsanitary Plaza Hotel
My fiancee and I stayed at The Plaza October 13-15,2006. Our room was infested with bed bugs as we later realized why our sheets had blood stains. We could not even inspect for bugs. Our light switch did not work because it was in conjunction with the alarm clock. Who usues a light switch upon entry for an alarm clock?!? Our room was hot the whole weekend. Our air conditioning unit was frozen over with ice. The whole time our shower tub filled up with water over 6 inches of water because it would not drain properly. I was also forced to take a cold shower because there was no hot water. The hotel DID NOTHING! We booked through Vegas.com and WOULD NOT refund our money. I'm not even getting a price reduction. Not only am I paying full price for a bug infested room I am paying for a trip to URGENT CARE!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! DO NOT book through VEGAS.COM!!!

  The Plaza Has Bed Bugs
I travel alot on business and have stayed at all types of hotels and motels. The Plaza is the first hotel I have stayed at that had bed bugs in the room! Very gross! I woke up itchy & with red bite marks. Hotel staff did not really care when I complained.

Review for Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas
This is a low quality hotel, if your budget is tight, than this may be your hotel. The smells, the oldness, having to check-in thru the garage entrance tells you something about this hotel, old furniture, tv without a remote. called about room before arriving in Vegas, I was told my request was ready, got there just the opposite, told first come first served, even tho it was booked a month ahead. A comlete tear down to the slab and then rebuild would be suitable for this hotel. Ask if I will ever stay there again, absolutely not!

Plaza Hotel and Casino is a dump
There was MOLD on the showerhead. There were LAYERS of dust in a few different places in the room. They would not refund the money for the room or move us to a different room. The pool is tiny and closes at 5pm. The parking is a 1/2 mile from the room. The managers are rude, the bellhops are rude and unwilling to actually service their customers. We had to walk with our luggage across the casino floor as part of the hotel was under construction, which they failed to mention at the time of booking.

This was my first visit staying downtown and unless I get a really great deal on the strip I'll probably stay at the Plaza again. You can't beat the rates and the staff and dealers were great. The buffet, while not like the huge displays at the bigger hotels, is well worth the price. Me and a buddy stayed here over the summer and had a great time. They were filming the Ultimate Poker Challenge and Man vs. Vegas while we were there and it was great to see both of these going on. I highly recommend this hotel for a great time and a great value.

Stayed at the Plaza for only one night at the end of April (WYNN grand opening weekend) when everywhere on the strip was easily $200+ a night. After staying @ The Horseshoe the night before, I had very LOW expectations of the downtown hotels. Vallet was great and ended up being right by the tower we were in. I booked a deluxe room and asked for a high floor facing the strip. I ended up with a room on the 21st floor, corner room, with an awesome strip view. Room was large and clean. The room was a little worn around the edges, but all in all, a great value for the price. The room had a king bed, a little table and some chairs by the window, and a little sitting area as soon as you walk in by the door. I'm thinking of trying out one of their suites my next visit. I actually found that getting to the strip from the Plaza is actually easier than getting around when staying on the strip. You can hop right on the freeway and get off on any of the strip exits and be at your destination on the strip in about 10min. I would reccomend the deluxe rooms at the PLAZA to anyone who wants a large clean room at a good price.

Why is everyone comparing this place to Mandalay Bay for? I have stayed here several times but it is definitely not because I expect it to be on par with the bigger strip hotels. My reason for choosing The Plaza is because of the room rates. I want to spend my money on the games, not the room. I also am usually fortunate to get a room facing Fremont Street and love seeing the Experience from my room. And I like the downtown casinos because they seem to be more friendly to the visitor. So I will stay here again. My room was clean. The concierge was exceptional. The staff was friendly and accomodating. My stay was pleasant.

Please trust me, this place is nasty. The only reasons we go there is we go with a couple of Highrollers and they are comp'd a couple of very nice suites that are beautiful. We go there and order room service any time night or day. So we stay for free and eat and drink for free. In our private rooms, The bathroom had mold in shower, the rooms we stayed in were pretty clean, the Casino is old, dengy musty and even as much deodorizers they use, it still stinks. The chairs at the table games are stained and even sticky. Believe this: 2 days, bathrooms apparently backed up, they had to close the theater where shows are because there was standing doo doo water. Folks, it smelled really bad in the Casino. While my brother and I were playing 3 card poker, the dealer had taken about 150 a piece from us in about 30 minutes, one hand my brother and I both Straight-FLUSHED. NOT Royal Flush. The dealer only dealt herself 2 cards and called it a misdeal. I called for the Pitboss and called [foul]. He called a misdeal. I never spent another dime in the casino. I mean hell, you do the math. She owed both of us about 4 hundred a peice. That misdeal would not have only payed her salary for a week, it would have paid somebody elses salary for a week. And if every dealer does that once ot twice a shift, then you now know how profitable it could have been for them. This trip I promise you was one of the worst experiences in my life. I hope you believe this, I have no motives. I did not put our real names because I understand the underground with these casinos and I dont want to wake up lost the nect time I go to Vegas. The workers in the pit act like they are pissed off half the time. Many speak different languages and cant understand what they are saying. For the most part they are very ugly people. I dont know about you but, I prefer blondes with a good smile and heavy breasts to take my money. Peace

While staying at the Plaza during this past week, we visited the comedy show, which we enjoyed. I believe there should be a ruling, NO CHILDREN ALLOWED, as two young boys joined their parents to this strictly adult show. If the parents haven't got the brains touse good judgment in their children's entertainment, I guess those of us who care, should make the rules. Yes, "it sometimes takes a village to raise a child."

I live in LV so I'm biased, but I really truley love the Plaza. I don't think that anyone will agree with me, but I find the casino to be charming to a T.
The carpet was a festival of comedy tragedy masks. It's like walking on a party!

The location as far as the FSE is concernernd is nothing short of dazzling.
There are still bugs to work out, but I find the whole element of danger on a subtle sense, makes things fun.

Rock on Plaza!

I have stayed at the Plaza more than any other hotel in Vegas. They are striving to keep up with the times. The Plaza now has a McDonalds, Subway, Coffee Shop, and pretty good restaurants.
The rooms were a little small and probably could do with some re-modeling.
I will probably stay at the Plaza again.
Almost all movies I have seen with Vegas shots usually show the pretty lights in front of the Plaza!

we stopped at the plaza in 2001 and thoroughly enjoyed it, you get a much more personal touch than the big hotels on the strip. The location is great we loved freemont street, and the rooms where big and spacious, as well as clean. We liked it that much we are hopefully going to book in there again in september of this year with 6 friends.
