4stars  BEWARE Harrassment Stalking Sexist NOT SAFE!!
I had an absolutely abhorring experience here, this "hotel" is scary dangerous and unsafe! I was continually harassed catcalled with degrading remarks BY HOTEL EMPLOYEES! I filed a report with "security" who was untrustworthy and physically pushed me around. Please be safe and don't stay here! Some of my belongings are unaccounted for and they will not help me with that either. I have not been refunded for the unused portion of my stay and surprise surprise they're being completely uncooperative. STAY AWAY!!

  GREAT SLOTS; BAD ROOMS
I STAY AT THE RIVIERA OFTEN AND LOVE THIER $1 SLOTS; I EVEN WON $17,000 IN JULY OF 2006. IN SAYING THIS, THE LAST TIME I VISITED WAS IN APRIL AND THE ROOM THEY GAVE ME WAS AWFUL. ADDITIONALLY, I SAW THE BIGGEST ROACH CRAWLING ON THE WALL THAT I HAD EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. THIS HAS DEFINITELY CHANGED MY PERCEPTION OF THIS HOTEL. I THOUGHT THAT PEOPLE WERE EXAGGERATING WHEN THEY CALLED IT A ROACH MOTEL/HOTEL, BUT NOW I MUST AGREE. MY ADVICE IS TO PLAY THE SLOTS BUT DO NOT STAY IN THE ROOMS. FINALLY, THE BUFFET IS AWESOME; BUT AFTER SEEING THAT GIGANTIC ROACH, I CANNOT EVEN EAT HERE AGAIN WHICH IS TOO BAD BECAUSE THE PRICES ARE VERY AFFORDABLE AND THE STAFF IS EXCELLENT.

not a place to stay if you are a big player
I have stayed here for the past 9 years and 2006 was the worse year ever as far as treatment when there. I have always been a large slot player and have recieved a fruit basket upon arrival, show comps as needed, and treated like a person. last year i was treated like a nobody and that i had not been staying there for the past nine years and sepnding most of my time there playing. in 2005 i spent over $200,000 in slot play for the 8 days i was there, so figured i would atleast get a room up grade in 2006, didn't happen in fact the slot host acted like it was a real pain for them even to talk to me, when asked about food credits they told me to charge to my room and check back in a few days and they would let me know what i was going to be given, i thought who are they kidding! after the amount of money spent the year before and they can't say don't worry your food is comped, anyway i did check back a few days later and they said it was all used up, so i had 5 more days of playing and when i got ready to check out found out there was another 200.00 in food comps i could have used, but they forgot to tell me! So i am off to find a new home to play at and hope that they can treat me like a person, or atleast someone who has spent more than a dollar!

I asked for and was told we could have a handicap room. When we checked in we were told none available. My friend was in a wheel chair,we were put on the 5th floor, security was to busy to take her up for the Buffet, they over charged her for the wheel chair,it turned out to be the vacation from hell. I have stayed in your hotel the last I can't count how many times , I haven't wanted to stay any where else,my slot card number is 396933 you can see for yourself how many times I have stayed there, but this time it was a bust. We won't be staying there again.

We were there for a trade show, and were treated very well in the casino, at the restaurants, and by the service staff. Most of the card dealers were OK, but some could have been more talkative and pleasant. It seemed like some blackjack dealers were cutting the decks short, causing the deck to be shuffled too often which gives the house an advantage. One of the table game supervisers, Mark, was VERY pleasant and interacted well with patrons. Some of the card dealers were very helpful and even teaching newbies. My room was meticulously cleaned every day, and was very quiet. I think the Riveria was a great value as far as price goes, but could use some fresh air circulation as the air was stuffy and reaked of cigarette smoke, which permeated everything I brought. It is a distance to the major hotels on the strip, and an cost you $15-20 a trip as far as taxis go.

Our first time to Vegas, NASCAR weekend. So excited, no assistance from the staff, just standing around. Room, no shower curtain, safe not working. Phoned, no safe for the 6 day stay, no help. Staff not overly helpful, friendly or kind. But they sure stand there waiting for a tip. Wait around for a drink when your gambling, way at the end of the strip. The only great thing that will have us coming back was the amazing attitude and friendlyness of the NASCAR FANS. They were everywhere and very kind. When we return next year, we are not going to stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone either. We got home, wrote a letter and guess what, the staff come by the uncaring ways honestly, we never got a reply to our letter.

If you had special requests such as pool view or smoking Do Not go to the self
check in. Wait for someone to talk to. Also I seen people waiting in line for
the buffet and they didn't cut off the line and tell the people in line that
the Breakfast was over for 10.00 and that it was now 21.00 for the brunch.
That was truly rude. I got in for 10.00 but the people behind me which was waiting just as long as me got charged 20.00!
They need to upscale the place more. Shops were so so. Not great.
I would go there only for a place to stay cheaper.
The people at the player club booth were rude.
Over all I would say I would stay there again if they offered me comps.

We had reservations in over a month before we were to arrive, the night we arrived, there was no room available, and I had called to confirm our reservation 4 days before, and they confirmed, well you know, we will never even try to, or want to stay at your hotel again, better get your act together, I don't care how long your hotel has been in business, I as a paying customer, do Not need a hotel that cannot provide my needs, and they had already had been paid for our reservation over a month in advance. What is wrong with this picture??
Sorry about that. It's been real, but you know what? Just too real.

I have been staying at the Riviera every April for the last 7 years. I stay for 5 nights each time. Although I do like the old style atmosphere of the hotel and casino I have noticed that in the last 2 years they are starting to go a bit down hill. I enjoy playing blackjack and like to have a good time doing it.
Having a good time to me is interacting with the players and dealers as well as winning a few dollars. Well at the Riv the dealers are like robots. They show no emotion and you can barley get them to talk at all they are just machines.
While most of the dealers are on the older side of life at least they should be cordial. A walk accross the street to Slot's of Fun proves to be a better time at the blackjack table.
Playing slots at the Riv is great, plenty of them and they seem to be looser than most other places.
The hotel is very convinient to the LVCC which is a plus for me since I am in Vegas for a convention every year.
I enjoy my stays at the Riviera and would recomend it to others I just wish they would update their fleet of dealers.

I enjoyed my stay at the Riviera, and I praise the service of the hotel staff. To wit, my friend passed out by the pool after a long night of beer and blackjack. When he awoke, burnt to a crisp, he could not locate his wallet, phone, eyeglasses, or shirt -- thus losing his shirt literally as well as figuratively. Amidst this crisis, a security officer named Daniel came to the rescue and eventually located all of the misplaced items, just as my friend was set to embark for LensCrafters at the Fashion Show Mall. Daniel's concern and valiant effort saved my friend a lot of money and an enormous hassle. Hats off.

As for the negatives, several of the blackjack tables use a shuffling machine into which cards are placed as soon as they are played, so aspiring card counters should choose their tables carefully. Also, though all casinos have that distinctive odor (what is that smell, anyway? flavored oxygen?), the odor in the Riviera casino is particularly strong.

I truly love the riviera it one of the only true old vegas hotels left. and i think that the hotel takes me back a little bit i have stayed at the newer resorts and i really enjoyed them. but you really dont get the true vegas fell till you stay at the riv. the rooms are lovely. and clean . and there is plenty of great resterants too. and they have a great players club too.and the shows are great too i really loved la cage impersonator show and of corse slash. i could stay at any hotel in vegas but i always choose the riviera im right at home there. mabee you will feel that way too. bonnie

I am a travel agent and send hundreds of people to Vegas each year. I always

get a'Just Great' out of the Rivera. It's location is up the beaten path, however,

for a place to stay they are doing a fine job. I think people value their own

opinions a little to much. Vegas is Vegas. If you want upscale stay down the

street at the upscale places. When I stayed there we paid $160.00 for 4

nights. That included taxes. The Ceasers Place was going for $560.00 for

4 nights, that's a little more than a few bucks a night. I guess it really

just depends what you are going to Vegas for. To have a good time for just

a litte money or to put on the Ritz. I think I'll spend my big money on Paris.

No I don't mean the hotel.
